If you read my story about the problems I had with chemicals in mascara, you know that I did a lot of searching for a suitable substitute and did the searching for mascara online. I live out in the country where stores are not readily available so the vast majority of my research was done over the Internet. So it was up to me to see if I could find mascara online that would work for my sensitive skin.
I found that natural mascara like a lot of natural makeup was made without added chemicals. At least chemicals of the man-made type. The natural organic mascara that I found online had very specific lists of the components that made up the mascara. The advantage of doing that research online was that I was able to immediately find out where the actual contents came from. Many are from plants or are components of mineral makeup. I personally did not know what some of those plants were or where they came from. After all, just because its a plant, doesn’t mean I want to put it on my face! I don’t care how much it may help me in some area, I am not putting poison ivy on my skin 🙂
I also found the mascara blacklist of contents that should be avoided at all cost. Even if you don’t have an allergy, most of these components are not good for you with prolonged use. Especially if you want to do natural skin care, you need to avoid bad chemicals.
Mascara Online Or Store: The Same
I am finding the same mascara online that I later found in my local stores like Macy’s. The price of online mascara was about the same as a Macy’s if you only bought the one product. Although the price was lower online, the shipping costs brought the online mascara to be the same as the retailers. However, the convenience of shopping from my living room was very nice. I actually did save some money as I tend to buy multiple organic makeup brands as I buy my mascara online. So when I spread the shipping costs across several items, everything was cheaper.
What Mascara do I Like?
I am most fond of Dr. Hauschka products. They have been around for a long time and no one I know of has had problems with alergic reactions to their products. NVEY also has a line of natural organic products that I know are of very good quality. I have not used it myself but overall reviews online have been great and I have a couple of friends that swear by the company.
The cost is great and the convenience is even better. The upshot of all this is that if you are looking to buy organic mascara, you may feel perfectly safe buying mascara online.
